I traveled Serbia, Bosnia and Croatia for two weeks, and just snapped some random car photos, (mostly) of the cars we don’t get on the west side of the pond. Hilux, random French hatchbacks, euro-spec VW models, Yugos
Canon 6D with a Canon 24-70mm f2.8L

That’s the same camera I have, but I much better 24-70. Get any artsier shots while you were travelling?

“but I much better 24-70"
I have a feeling you missed a word or something :)
I didn’t take too many artsy shots - mostly bunch of snaps of the people I was with. Here are a few decent ones.
We walked the “Dani Piva” festival in Zrenjanin (Beer Fest), visited the City of Visegrad and saw the 440 year old bridge over river Drina (FIL read the “Bridge over Drina” book by the Yugoslavian Nobel prize winner Ivo Andric and wanted to see it), visited DrvenGrad built by the director Emir Kusturica, had some fruit in my best friends orchard and saw his still and the mixture getting ready for distilling apple schnapps, and walked the farmers market.

Yeah, I meant “a” not “I.” Not sure how that typo worked. I’m not even on a phone or tablet! lol.
Nice shots though! Very cool.

Give me the classic yugo any day, that facelifted junk is so ugly.
Love seeing a nice model T out and about over there too.

I agree, classic Yugo FTW. My uncle can pop the top of the engine off and replace the piston rings in a few hours, and get the car going with a pair of pliers and a screwdriver.
That Model T was from Hungary, and the Major was scheduled to have a spin in it later that day.

Thanks! 24-70 is my dads, I have a 16-36mm f4L and a 70-200mm f2.8L and I figured that 24-70 would be a better walk around lens. I’ve been toying with the idea of buying a 24-105, but the new model of it should be out soon.
I will probably just buy a ef-m 18-55mm and use it with my EOS M for traveling when I am not in the mood to haul the full size DSLR and a huge lens.

It’s odd seeing cars that I see every day valued with this level of unicorn status, but I guess I would react the same way if I saw a completely different set of cars too. This is still probably the most effort someone took to take a photo of a Ford Mondeo though.
Either way, this is a great post. Beautiful photography, and it shows how beautiful regular cars can be too.

Thanks! Where do you live? I am from Serbia, but the cars are changing (for the better) every time I go back. Way less Yugos, and way more European hatchbacks.
All of these shots are just snapshots, with about 10 seconds of editing per shot in Lightroom.

I live in England, so the Yugo is virtually extinct here, but the rest of the cars are roughly the same. Serbia is an interesting place too, nice to see how it’s developing in the modern day.
And as for the photo quality, it goes to show that a good camera and steady hand go a long way. I installed Lightroom recently myself, and after seeing this I think I should use it more often.

Lightroom is awesome. So much so that I haven't even installed photoshop on my last PC build. Shoot RAW, use Lightroom, and you are halfway to becoming a Pro ;)

Basically, a Yugo sedan

Tried it out on a few Oppo photos. The improvement was noticeable, especially considering the small time taken to adjust everything.
Have some before and afters:
Cosmos from Aya’s post.
Oppo UK roadtrip 2016.
Delta Integrale restoration project.

Once you get more comfortable, you can start using adjustment brushes and change exposure in select parts of the photo only. LR is a great tool.

Yep, as you can probably tell that was just a good few seconds playing around with it, I'll make sure to make more use of the program as I get more comfortable with it.
